WHY I'M A MEMBER

Each member has their own unique reasons for joining and participating in Business and Professional Women. See what they have to say.

Vicki Davis

I visited a meeting and was impressed by the professionalism of the women there. I am able to share my business with those who attend. Also, the speakers we invite have helped me in my professional life as well as my personal life. We all need “girl” time and I love the comradery I’ve developed with the ladies in our group. Our group believes in giving back to our community and that’s very important to me. I’m so thankful that I was introduced to the Business and Professional Women’s Club. Sincerely, Vicki Davis Safety Educator with Damsel in Defense

Debbie Cromer

I love being a member of BPWSC because I have made so many friends and acquaintances who offer multiple types of business relationships that are either useful to me or that I can pass on to others. I have been in a board position on the local and state level which has allowed me to learn so much about leadership and conference and meeting planning. Being in a board position has also given me the opportunity to reach outside our local organization to get to know the ladies in other local organizations statewide. Being a member of BPWSC has allowed me to invite friends to BPW meetings so they, too, can meet women and make not only business relationships but personal relationships as well. It has also allowed me to encourage dear friends to apply for and win scholarships that help pay for their education or allow them to continue their education after many years of being out of school. I can say that I sincerely love being a member of BPWSC. It has opened up a new pathway for me to enjoy and to help others along the way.

"I joined Business and Professional Women because I was looking for a group of like-minded women who desire to share open dialogue about their businesses. Sharing ideas, tips, chatting, and gaining insights and wisdom from other BPW women is priceless! You cannot put a price tag on having a network of support and encouragement like you have with this group of ladies! Networking is so important for any business or professional woman. I’m glad to be a part of this team!"

Lynn McClain

Following some major life changes, and realizing I wasn’t getting any younger, it was time to reevaluate life. After working in the corporate world for over 40 years, I decided to open a floral business. Needing opportunities for networking, I participated in the Easley Spring Fling where I met Mrs. Jean Wilson. The Tri-County Business and Professional Women’s booth was beside mine and we talked off and on all day. Jean invited me to attend a monthly meeting, which I did, and the rest is history, so to speak. I joined that very day and have participated to the greatest extent possible. It is wonderful being a part of a professional women’s group and continuing those ever important networking opportunities. BPW has given me much more than I have put into it. I’ve met so many inspiring women from our state, and especially from the Tri-County and Greenwood local organizations. These women do not know the meaning of quit. They are committed to keeping BPW strong and offer so much to the organization. Many of these women are entrepreneurs or hold high levels in their corporate offices. These women are very professional and never hold back on encouragement for younger women pursuing their own careers. They give through mentorship programs, scholarships and applicable meeting programs. Business and Professional Women of South Carolina is a vital part of whatever career path one chooses. Don’t miss out on it!
